While greenwashing enforcement actions (Australia), the Great Coal Debate in the Senate, and the next round of ISSB decisions send mixed signals
The week began with a holiday, an ASEAN+3 finance minister/central bank governor meeting and the Brussels Economic Forum, none of which moved the ball forward with new actions or commitments concerning the climate transition. This left the United States in the unusual position of being the most active actor with a flurry of regulatory proposals that implement the Inflation Reduction Act climate initiatives across three cabinet agencies while the war in Ukraine intensified.
Against this backdrop, the ISSB announced plans to move forward with planned incremental shifts in the international standards for climate-related disclosures.
